FBC Staff:
Our
Pastor...
Our pastor, Steve Rice, was called 10
years ago to lead our congregation as Senior Pastor.
Pastor Steve and his wife Judy have 4 grown children and
5 grandchildren in the St. Louis and Kansas City areas.
Pastor Steve was saved at the age of 9 and called to preach at 15. He has
his Bachelor of Arts degree from William Jewell College
and his Masters of Divinity degree from Luther Rice
Seminary. Pastor Steve, otherwise know as “Riceman” in
his radio days was on the Christian radio station WCBW
in the late 80’s and early 90’s as a teen call-in talk
show host for “Distant Images”. He served many years as
Youth Pastor and Associate Pastor in various churches in
the Midwest region. He enjoys golfing, reading, golfing,
dining, golfing, people watching, and golfing in his
spare time. (Did we mention he likes to golf?)
Most recently Pastor Steve has become
the Chaplain for the Godfrey Fire Department. He
is available for counseling and assisting with the
families of victims or department personnel.
Our Associate Pastor...
Joe Costephens is our
associate pastor was called just this summer to come back on staff.
He served as youth minister previously for three and half years.
Joe is married to his high school sweet heart Sarah and the have one
child and are expecting a second.
Joe accepted the call
Jesus placed on his life to become a follower of God when he was 11
years old, surrendering his life to ministry at the age of 15. Joe
earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion from Missouri Baptist
College and earned his Master of Divinity from Southern Baptist
Theological Seminary. Joe has served at Godfrey and was youth
minister over a large youth minister in the Louisville area while in
seminary. His hobbies include golf, weight lifting, manly
projects, coffee, and hanging out with his family and friends.
Director
of Worship...
Judy Rice, Pastor Steve's wife, serves
as our worship leader and she coordinates all our adult
ministries. Judy combines her music talent with
her love for the Lord to lead God's people in worship
experiences that are uplifting and inspirational.
Judy was saved when she was 12 years
old and has always served in the music ministry of her
church as organist, pianist, and choir member. As well
as being employed part-time by FBC, she is also employed
full-time at a large church in West St. Louis County as
the Business Administrator of their church and school.
She enjoys entertaining, decorating, and of course lots
of shopping in her extra time. (Cooking is optional!
