Basic FBC Beliefs
In keeping with our Southern Baptist heritage,
these are five of our most basic beliefs.

CREATION

          “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth”     Genesis 1:1

          “So God created man in His own image, in the image of God he created him; male and
           female He created them.”      Genesis 1:27

DIETY OF CHRIST

          “The son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining
          all things by his powerful word.  After he had provided purification for sins, He sat down at
          the right hand of the Majesty in heaven."     Hebrews 1:3

VIRGIN BIRTH

          “You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus …
          How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?”  The angel answered, “The
          Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most high will overshadow you.  So the
          holy one to be born will be called the son of God.”     Luke 1:31, 34-35

PRIESTHOOD OF THE BELIEVER

          “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God,
          that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of the darkness into his wonderful
          light.”      I Peter 2:9

SECOND COMING/ETERNAL REIGN OR PUNISHMENT

          “For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of
          the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.  After
          that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to
          meet the Lord in the air.  And so we will be with the Lord forever."     I Thessalonians 4:16-17
